How to Set Up Exchange Email on an Android myTouch

Executive summary about android by Aubrey Kerr

The Android myTouch comes with Outlook pre-installed so you can send and receive email from your phone. Configure Outlook with your Microsoft Exchange login information to access your Exchange account. The myTouch will sometimes be able to automatically set up your account based on your email address, but ask your Exchange I.T. help desk or network administrator for the Exchange server address and domain name, just in case you need to manually enter this information.
Touch "Application" on the Home screen.
Slide your finger down the list of applications until you see the "Mail" icon. Tap it.
Select "Exchange ActiveSync," and touch "Manual Setup."
Type in your email address and wait while the myTouch attempts to auto-populate the domain and server address. Just fill in your password if the other fields auto-populate. If myTouch doesn't enter the information, continue.
Enter the server address and domain you got from your Exchange administrator or I.T. help desk. Also enter your Exchange username and password. Touch "Next."
Choose "Mail," "Contacts," "Calendar," or all three. The myTouch will sync any or all this data from your Exchange account.
Tap "Finish" and wait for the myTouch to sync your data from the Exchange server.

android exchange application

Simply the BEST for Exchange by Android Touchdown

Most Helpful Customer Reviews by Dzevad Becirovic

If you are looking for an email client that will give you functionality of Outlook on your phone Touchdown is it! I have tried other clients like Moxier and others and simply none of them can match Touchdowns functionality.

It syncs emails with folders, contacts, calender and tasks. What sets Touchdown appart from the rest is its ability to sync all your email for starters, not just 30 days.

The biggest feature for me though is its search abilities. It will search all your emails, calendar, contacts and tasks. That feature alone makes it a great desktop alternative for me because I am always doing those searches.

Now I can treat the phone just like my desktop email. It truely allows me able to use Outlook to its fulliest and have that ability on the go!!!! I put off buying this for about 6 months, because I kept trying to see if there was something better. Needless to say I am using Touchdown full time now.

Maximizing Your Productivity With Your Android Phone

Executive summary about Android Phone by T.Patrick Phelps

Fortunately, the evolution of smart phones have reached the tipping point. Much more than a means of mobile communication, smart phones are a powerful and effective means to maximizing your productivity. I have explored and experimented with several smart phones and have landed squarely on the Android OS. Google Apps
The Android OS integrates seamlessly with many of the free Google apps. Most importantly for productivity, are Google Calendar, GMail, Docs, Tasks and Voice. Each of these apps are free and only require setting up a Google account.
Google calendar integrates and automatically updates the calendar on my Android phone wherever I am. The integrated email in box on Android phones is capable of managing several of my business and personal emails, including my GMail account. Keeping personal and business separate is wonderful productivity enhancement made easy with the Android OS.

Google Docs allows me to store files for future review as well as sharing files for collaboration. Google Voice is by far my favorite Google App. The Google Voice app that is a free download from the Android market works flawlessly with my Voice account. I have messages specifically for clients, my business partner, family and friends as well as unknown callers. Being able to manage and edit all my Google Voice features from my phone is a powerful productivity enhancement that I now depend on for my business.
Though there are many other apps for the android OS and other smart phones, this combination has worked wonders for me and my business. Moreover, each app I listed here are 100% free of charge!

Android Touchdown | Touchdown Android

Android Touchdown - Exchange By TouchDown

Exchange By Touchdown is the ultimate productivity tool for the hard-working smartphone user. Use this app to connect to your company's Exchange Server with secure access to your corporate e-mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes. If you want to activate the full version of Exchange By TouchDown, simply upgrade by purchasing the Exchange By Touchdown Key app.
Supported Servers

Touchdown Android
TouchDown works with a variety of e-mail servers for your convenience. If your server is enabled for ActiveSync protocol and supports AutoDiscovery, you can configure your account easily by entering your e-mail address credentials. TouchDown does not work with POP3 or IMAP servers.
Data and SD Card Encryption
Android TouchDown honors the data encryption policy by encrypting the sensitive fields in e-mails as well as calendar and contact entries that are stored on the device. TouchDown employs 3DES encryption for sensitive data stored on your device.

Android does not support an encrypted file system on the SD card. If the server requests SD card encryption policy, TouchDown honors that by encrypting the attachments downloaded to the SD card using 3DES encryption. If the removable card encryption policy is enforced, moving the SD card from one device to another renders the downloaded attachment files unreadable.
Remote Wipe

This remote wipe process deletes all the corporate data held inside TouchDown as well as any attachments under its control.
E-mail-Initiated Data Wipe
For users that don't use ActiveSync or may not have an administrator readily available for a remote wipe, TouchDown has you covered. Head into your settings and set a Remote Kill Code by pressing the Remote Kill button. Simply sending an email to your account with a unique subject line from another account will cause the device to lose the TouchDown data.
